Why take a chance on some used part from the swap meet? There’s a reason that electrical part is laying on a tarp for just a few dollars. Instead, why not take the task of electrical system diagnosis off your plate and bolt in reliability?
The Cycle Electric CE-500L is specifically designed to seamlessly fit on the end of your 12-voltDGV-5000 generator, ensuring both a neat appearance and modern charge regulation functionality.
The housing of the CE-500 series of regs is a structural part of the generator containing one of the armature bearings andfeatures a current-limiting circuit that monitors the temperature of the armature and adjusts the current accordingly. As the temperature increases, the current decreases proportionally. This unique feature allows for higher output after a cold start, enabling faster battery recharging. (It’s possible for the batter to recover in as quickly as five minutes instead of 20.)
The L (low voltage) package is perfect for a chopper that has minimal electrical draw. This “L” version of the DGV-5000 is equipped with a low-voltage regulator specially tuned for a small 12-volt battery. This is important when using a small battery in a horseshoe oil tankheavy charging plus hot oil plus little airflow is a perfect storm to boil off your battery’s electrolyte.
