BMW Ergonomics – Wunderlich “Active Comfort” Passenger Seat Edition 35 #2 (Low):

This year we presented our two sensational Wunderlich R 1250 GS EDITION 35 #1 and #2 in the context of our EDITION 35 activities. For the #2, we had designed an extremely sporty version and created a passenger seat that should definitely meet the high sporty demands of the GS. Since we introduced it, we have received numerous enquiries as to whether we would offer this slim and puristic passenger seat.

Here it is!

The EDITION 35 AKTIVKOMFORT passenger seat naturally picks up the grandiose colour layout of the #2. The flanks, partially contrasted in white and blue, emphasise the sporty character that was clearly in the foreground with this passenger seat, just like the seat height lowered by 40 mm.

We manufacture this EDITION 35 AKTIVKOMFORT passenger seat with our specifically adapted 3D contour due to the height reduced by 40 mm. The shape and inclination of the elaborately processed, progressively constructed, two-layer seat core support the ergonomically advantageous, natural posture of the pelvis. The support contour integrated into the front of the seat, which provides additional secure support when braking, is flatter and less pronounced than in the standard passenger seats – this is due to the sporty character of the seat, which was clearly the main focus of this project.

Integrated in this way, it provides a sporty, relaxed and therefore active ride. And, no doubt, relaxed sitting creates a plus in passive safety. With theThermoProcoating, the temperature of this seat is up to 25C lower in full sunshine at the height of summer compared with conventional, untreated cover material.

Our recommendation: Matching our Edition 35 AKTIVKOMFORT passenger seat, we recommend our AKTIVKOMFORT rider seat in HP design, which we offer in the standard height 42720-800 and in a deep version 42720-820.

“Sitting through” of the upholstery is reliably avoided due to the well thought-out design and the sitting pressure is evenly distributed over a larger area, resulting in a noticeably lower specific pressure load on the buttocks. Pleasant! Also typically miraculous: The integrated groove to relieve the pressure-sensitive coccyx as a further outstanding trademark!

They offer perfect hold and active, safe control during forced riding, even when braking: who hasn’t experienced this when a passenger suddenly and unexpectedly has to support himself when anchoring. With Wunderlich’s specially developed support contour these frightening moments when braking are a thing of the past.
