• Outer Shell PB-cLc2: Arais Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction enhances shell strength and flexibility, while keeping it lightweight and lowering the centre of gravity. It features a thinner EPS liner for improved upward visibility and uses a specially designed fibre mat to bond the Super Fibre layers without adding weight. The latest Z-Mixture resins improve material adhesion, allowing for a thinner, lighter shell.
• Variable Axis System A (VAS-A): This visor system enables quick, tool-free visor swaps. The visor mounts lower, providing an additional 10mm of smooth shell surface for better impact deflection and a larger field of view.
• 3 Configurations: The helmet supports adventure, on-road, and off-road styles without needing extra parts, with an eye-port optimized for goggles.
• Innovative Peak: The new peak enhances ventilation, improves airflow at high speeds, offers adjustable sun blocking, and reduces buffeting for a more comfortable ride.

VENTILATION

• Tour-X5 Ventilation: The Tour-X5 has an entirely new ventilation system. With a total of three intake vents and five exhaust vents, the ventilation is further improved from the previous generation. Stay cool in any situation
• Free Flow System (FFS): Creates airflow under the helmet that reduces wind noise and turbulence while increasing the exhaust of hot air
• Hidden Multi-Stage Air Channel: Allows hot air to be pulled out of the helmet through 3 holes in the EPS liner to the Twin Venturi Exhaust ports

FRONT VENTILATION

• 3D Arai Logo Duct: This thin (3.5mm) duct features two central 10mm intake ports, enhancing airflow by 40% at 50km/h and 7% at 120km/h. It operates easily with gloves via a top lever and is designed to break away on impact for improved glancing-off ability.
• Centre Top Vent – Intake: This low-profile vent improves airflow and breaks away during impacts to maintain safety. It has three settings (closed, half open, fully open) to adjust airflow and prevent water intrusion.
• Three Position Chin Vent: This vent helps demist the visor and provides fresh, cool air to the rider.
• Inner Chin (Bar) Vent Shutter: This shutter works with the mouth shutter to control airflow. Both open directs air to the mouth; with the inner closed, air is directed to the visor to reduce fogging.

REAR VENTILATION

• Neck Exhaust Vent: Enhances hot-air extraction from the helmet’s interior, improving ventilation at the lower part.
• One-Piece Rear Exhaust With Spoiler Function: This rear exhaust/spoiler, inspired by the DF-X2 of the RX-7V Racing, features a 3-way switch and has been tested up to 300km/h. Positioned forward on the shell, it uses three ports for efficient airflow, reducing buffeting and rider fatigue. Designed to be thin and light, it crushes or breaks away upon impact without compromising safety.
• Side Exhausts: These ports create low-pressure behind the rear vent for better hot air extraction. Integrated into the shell, they enhance aerodynamics, reduce wind noise, and prevent buffeting. A small noise-reducing foam inside absorbs excessive noise without hindering ventilation.
• Rear Duct: The top-rear duct serves as a goggle-strap locator and allows for easy removal or replacement of diffusers with a single screw.

AERODYNAMICS

• Retractable Pull-Down Chin Spoiler: This spoiler minimizes wind intrusion at the helmet’s base and expels hot, humid air around the cheek pads. Combined with fresh air from the chin vent, it effectively reduces visor fogging and wind noise.

VISOR

• VAS Max Vision Visor (VAS-A): The new Max-Vision visor maintains the wide field of view and visibility expected from an Arai Tour-X model. The Pinlock 120 XLT insert effectively resists fogging in extreme wet conditions across the entire view.
• Pinlock Insert Lens Included: This lens prevents misting and fogging, even in damp conditions, and can be easily cleaned or replaced.

INTERIOR

• Antimicrobial Liner Material: Maintains neutral acidity and antibacterial properties for a comfortable fit. The softer liner frame features adjustable temple padding for customisation.
• Replaceable Cheek Pads / Ear Cups: Easily removable for cleaning with lukewarm water and mild soap. Available in various thicknesses for a custom fit.
• Replaceable Interior: The entire interior can be removed and cleaned similarly, with different thickness options for a personalised fit.
• Replaceable Chinstrap Covers: Cleanable with lukewarm water and mild soap, with various thickness options for a custom fit.
• Replaceable Neckroll: Similar cleaning instructions apply, with options for different thicknesses for a tailored fit.

COMFORT

• Emergency Release System (ERS): Facilitates helmet removal for injured riders by allowing medical personnel to easily pull out the cheek pads using integrated orange tabs, minimizing the risk of further injury.
• 10mm Wider Base: The shell flares 5mm on each side for a total of 10mm, making it easier to put on and take off the helmet.
• Intercom Accommodation: Designed for easy attachment of communication systems on the shell exterior without compromising protection from the inner EPS liner.
• Neckroll Wire Pocket: Stores excess cable length in the neck roll without affecting comfort or protection.
• Egg-Shaped Chin Cover Compatible: This chin curtain enhances the helmet’s egg shape, blocks air intrusion, and improves airflow, reducing noise by increasing negative pressure for better exhaust function.

APPROVAL

• ECE R22-06: ECE R22-06 requires a much more stringent testing process than the previous ECE R22-05 and includes an oblique test to measure rotation

Start with measuring your head to get an idea of the size to look for: measure (in cm) the circumference across the forehead, above the eyes and ears and over the small bump at the back of the head, read the size where the tape joins.
