If you purchase a vented cap for a non-vented bike, gas will spew out of the hidden vent when the tank is full and the pump is activated when the bike is started. Center fill 08-up touring models use a vented cap. Carbureted bikes can have vented or non vented, it varies from bike to bike. Just depends if the tank is vented or not.
